Over your time with our experienced team of Technical Trainers you will follow a curriculum geared toward giving you the best foundation knowledge, skills and expertise required to be a success.

Our Managed Learning Programme ensures that all course topics are broken down into easy-to-digest sections. Our Technical Trainers are fully qualified to mentor, support and bring out the very best in you.

In Short: 27 Weeks

Your course is designed to give you a comprehensive and hands-on approach to becoming a domestic gas installer. The Energy Training Academy’s DGHI New Entrants course includes thirteen weeks of in-centre training.

The thirteen weeks in-centre training consists of two-week blocks spread over twenty-seven weeks, between each two-week block you will work out with the Academy under the supervision of a Gas Safe Registered Mentor to build your on-site portfolio (record of experience). Each two week in-centre block aims to develop the learner in a structured, purposeful direction thus allowing you to consolidate those skills developed in a real-world work placement supported by your Mentor.

Upon completion of the Managed Learning Programme (MLP), you will receive competence certificates for the different technical elements and an industry recognised MLP training certificate from LCL Awards.

Upon completion of the twenty-seven-week training, work placement and after your portfolio has been verified as complete, you will return to the Academy to undertake refresher training and ACS gas assessments for Domestic Core Gas Safety (CCN1) and Domestic Central Heating and Water Appliances (CENWAT).
